Welcome to the Twilight Zone

I heard this story on the news this morning and I literally found myself at a loss for words. However, the more I’ve thought about it, the more I’m finding a vast amount of humor in it.

A woman who went in 2004 for an abortion is suing two doctors and Planned Parenthood for botching her abortion. What do I mean by botched? Well, I mean she gave birth to a healthy baby girl, who is now at least 2 years old.

She’s suing for damages and hopes to get money to cover all the costs of raising the child.

First, I love it when 2 wrongs make a right, which having our screwed up legal system beating up on Planned Parenthood most certainly is. Then there’s the poor child who will inevitably KNOW that not only did her mother try to kill her, but that she sued the people who failed to kill her.

If it makes it to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, I’m sure they’ll order the baby executed by lethal injection. It was her mother’s decision to make, after all.

Hmmmmm.. if our trusty legal system drags this out until the child is 21, will they have lost their chance to kill her? Boggles the mind. I mean, surely you can’t kill grown people, only babies, right?

AHAHAHAHAHA. Well, I think that most states have banned abortion after the 87th trimester. Maybe this will be the case that finally gets that silly restriction on women’s rights removed!

OK. I’m going to say exactly what you expect me to say. I think she should be able to sue them for not getting what she paid for. HOWEVER. I don’t think she should have to recover the costs of raising the kid. She could have given it up for adoption as soon as she figured out she will still pregnant and too far along to abort. There are plenty of childless suckers out there who are desperate for a baby. I mean, if she’s a minority, Brad and Angelina would totally buy the kid.

Does Planned Parenthood offer a guarantee? “Child dead or your money back?” If not, I think they might be off the legal hook. I mean, they can only be expected to do their best to kill the kid. Nobody’s perfect. I feel so sorry for that poor kid…she has a monster for a mother. Suing for coffee is one dumb thing, but suing because you regret your child’s life…no words…

Andria, I’m also glad she’s suing. Not only is she costing Planned Parenthood money, but she’s making a case so ridiculous look plausible that it may spark some refreshed debate on the entire issue.

While I am a firm believer in a woman’s right to choose…this bitch is nuts. She couldn’t have gone back in a couple weeks when she hadn’t had a period and thought perhaps she was still preggo and ask Planned Parenthood to try again? Or, as Andria said, give the kid up for adoption? (I honestly think that would be the best thing….take the child out of this woman’s custody now, and give her to a family that will love her, rather than letting her be raised by someone this fucking greedy and dumb.)

You have to think that when something comes up this far after the fact, the lady is in it for the money she believes she MAY be entitled to. I think a law should be passed against it.
We’ll call it the “you snooze, you lose” law.
In other words… don’t be bringing yo triflin little ho self up in this piece without no good reason.
