Video Games: Society’s Undoing

I’m not one of those people that thinks video games cause teen violence. There’s no data to suggest a causal relationship between the two despite what the rabid leftists would say. I have shot REAL guns for years and it’s never made me want to shoot someone.

Video games ARE however the thing that will destroy our society.

Have you ever met a video gamer who wasn’t a complete and utter waste of humanity? I don’t mean a person who plays a game every once in a great while. I’m talking about anyone who plays video games EVERY day.

Video gamers are notoriously unhygienic, slothful, and stupid. That’s because instead of friends, they have remote controls. Instead of living in reality, they live in a fake world.

As the number of kids playing games increases (because parents are too lazy to raise their kids right), America will become more and more lazy, stinky, and stupid.

I’d leave a more intelligible comment but I need to shower … although somebody just told me about a really neato free video game and I just want to take a peek at it first …

Stereotyping is very dangerous. There are actually quite a few professionals now who are gamers in their free time. I think that your comparison is like saying all fans of football are the fat, drunk, bare-chested in the snow, ultra-fans of football. Or like saying that all fans of baseball are poor, ignorant, beer-swilling cheapskates, who stay home and listen to the game on AM radio wearing only tighty whities and a “wife-beater.”

The thing is that the professionals who game look like everyone else, smell like everyone else, and just choose to go home and play 2 hours of video games instead of watching TV (usually online, and disturbingly often with co-workers whom you’d think they would have had enough interaction with already).

    Stereotyping is FUN!
