The Solution for $1.25 Gas

Personally, I’m tired of paying $140.00 to fill up my gas tank.

I’m not sorry that I have a truck, and I even understand the economic realities driving up the price; the weak dollar (thanks to the fact we keep lowering the fed funds rate and creating inflation), increased demand (thanks to stupid China and India finally joining the rest of us in the 21st century), and of course, our domestic supply being in a choke hold (thanks to our chuckleheaded government).

You see, the fact is, although it may be selfish and may tick off the rest of the world, we really could have $1.25 gas if our government stopped being chuckleheaded. It’s all very simple, we just have to accept a few incidental casualties.

Let me explain. The first thing we have to do is hike up the interest rates. I mean, really hike’em up, like we had to do after Jimmy Carter ran is into a massive recession. This will slow down inflation which will make the dollar stronger against the Euro, which has been killing us. The bad news with raising rates, we’ll end up putting a lot of people out of work. However, that’s what they get for being either low skilled or being the least valuable person where they work. We want our cheap gas, dangit.

The next thing we have to do is stop worrying about messing up Ted Kennedy’s view (putting windmills out in the ocean) and killing off a bunch of stupid elk. It means we have to drill ANWR, drill in our costal waters, build new nuclear power plants, stop penalizing expansion of oil refineries so we can actually PROCESS the oil we dig up, and stop fricking taxing the bejeezus out of consumers at the gas pump.

In order to pay for permanently suspending the federal and state gas taxes, we will have to come home from Iraq. We can’t afford a moronic war at the same time we try to repair our Interstates without a gas tax.

So, you ask, what’s preventing all of this from happening? First and foremost, it’s the retarded Democrat party, who have embraced the eco-jihadists as if they have some moral imperative to “save the Earth,” as if the Earth has ANY hope of surviving if we leave things up to the Democrats. We’re talking about the same people who came up with our welfare system.

The drilling practices we’ve developed in the U.S. are so advanced, so clean, when they leave a drill site, you can barely tell they were there. Refineries aren’t allowed to emit smoke unless it’s been scrubbed to the point it’s just whispy white smoke. Drilling ANWR and our coastal waters, as well as mining more coal in our own backyard – we’d have enough energy to last us centuries.

The Democrats don’t want us building nuclear power plants, because they’re “too dangerous.” Never mind that the wussbag French are almost 90% nuclear and haven’t ever had an incident. The Democrats don’t want us drilling for domestic oil, which forces us to buy from the OPEC cartel and dozens of despotic nations that hate our guts. The Democrats don’t want us mining our own coal or building coal power plants, because… well… burning coal is bad (even though our new clean burning plants are not damaging to the environment). The Democrats plan is to sue OPEC. Yeah, you heard me right. They’re going to attempt to sue an international cartel. How do they plan to do that? Do you think “OPEC” is going to show up for the trial? Won’t that make OPEC mad at us and make them hike up our prices even higher?

At the same time, the Democrats are also trying to suck up to their poor constituents, telling them that if they’re elected, they’re going to lower gas prices. How, pray tell, are they going to do that, since it’s their own idiotic policies that are responsible for the gas prices? The eco-jihadists need to be shipped off to an island where they can live in palm leaf wigwams and eat plants. The rest of us like air conditioning, having food, and being able to communicate with the rest of the world.

As long as we let ourselves be held hostage by the eco-jihadists and their best buds, the Democrats, we are doomed. I hope you like living in a tent and growing your own food.

I just sent you an email. God help us all if the Dems get into office. Then again, if they do and royally fuck up they won’t have any Republicans to blame and everyone will finally know what fucknuts they are.

I know you’re worried about the apocalypse coming if a Democrat gets elected, but I hope you’re prepared to fund a war FOREVER if McCain gets elected. He’ll never pull us out of Iraq.

You know from my past posts that I think McCain is a chucklehead for wanting to stay in Iraq. I think though, in general, the Democrats have all of the economic prowess of a retarded 4 year old.

While I agree with you (I’m as surprised as you) that democrats want to throw money at everything they see, I still can’t vote McCain. Thank god Hilary isn’t going to be the democratic candidate, because then I would probably waste my vote on a third party candidate.

Didn’t I read that ANWR doesn’t hold enough oil to make a dent in anything?

That said…I’m all for windmills and nukulur power. Both are clean and safe. Both will lower bills.

But, there’s no friggin way this country will ever wean itself from oil. They could build a car that got 100 mpg if they wanted. They don’t because there’s no financial incentive.

I still don’t know who I’m voting for.

Obama makes Hillary look like a Rush Limbaugh pupil. His voting record is way farther left than Hillary.

However, since the country’s going to go to hell in a handbasket under the Democrat congress no matter who the president is, it might as well be a Democrat president taking all of the blame.

Then the good Lord will raise up a Reagan to save us once again.

Of course Obama’s voting is more to the left. It’s because there’s a conservative in Hilary waiting to come out. I think she’d sell out her party in a second if it gets her all the power. I don’t trust her.

I’m just hoping that Obama is a populist like Bill Clinton was – most of the time the good ole’ bell curve works like a charm.

One of the biggest arguments against drilling in ANWR or off-shore is the notion that it will take 5-10 years to get those pumps on-line. What people don’t realize is that the effect to gas prices could be immediate. It’s kind of like in the 80’s when Reagan just mentioned SDI (Star Wars), we didn’t have to actually build a missile killing device we just had to make our enemies believe that we would build it. The Russians folded like a cheap suit.

If Congress approves the bill to start drilling off-shore and in ANWR, what in the world do you think OPEC will do? Increase production thus dropping prices. If a farmer has a monopoly on providing corn the last thing he wants is for his customers to start growing their own corn, because if they do they’ll buy less of his. So instead of continuing to raise prices he’ll try to drop his so cheap that it’s more economical to buy from him then to grow your own.

If Congress gets aggressive with allowing ANWR drilling AND off-shore drilling the anticipation of increased supply will be enough to cause a precipitous drop in world-wide oil prices which benefits EVERYbody.

I think even the polar bears agree…
