There is a website called exploretalent.com. Someone found one of my casting calls on Craigslist and decided to post it on exploretalent.com.
I’ve been getting dozens of emails from women who apparently think they are models who want to audition for me.
Every last one of them has been either busted, old, horse-faced, or just plain ugly. I don’t even consider myself that picky. If you’ve seen my portfolio you know that I shoot a lot of normal, non-professional-model ladies. I don’t require stick-figure girls…
But even by my looser standards, these girls are just awful. You would DEFINITELY have to explore for awhile on this website if you wanted to find any talent whatsoever.
I am a member of onemodelplace.com and modelmayhem.com as well, both of which allow open profile postings from anyone and everyone. However, 80% of the ladies on those two sites are at least average to above average looking.
Exploretalent.com hasn’t had one attractive lady yet, at least not contacting me.
This is the problem with the Internet. Anyone with a computer can claim to be anything they want. I would think that a serious talent website would have some minimal screening in place to keep busted horse-faced girls off of them. Otherwise, they’re hurting their own credibility? Right?
Most of the places I post my portfolio (modelmayhem.com included) SCREEN MY EFFING WORK! Shouldn’t they do the same and screen the models?
I’m not saying. I’m just saying.
