We have nothing to worry about.
Obama is going to take over the auto industry.
For a minute, I thought we might let those crap companies file for bankruptcy and die like they deserve.
And just in case you’re wondering how Obama plans to make a go of running the auto industry, he’s forcing the CEO of GM to resign, having government goons “assist” with the restructuring, and then just in case people get smart and stop buying cars from a dying company, he’s going to provide a GOVERNMENT WARRANTY for your new car. Yeah, really. Never Fear, ObamaDog is Here!.
So if he socializes the auto industry and it still goes belly up, never fear, your transmission will be fixed with taxpayer dollars.
For a minute I was worried he might not live up to the socialist hype.
Actually that’s not true. There’s no chance he won’t live up to the hype. He won’t fail, because HE is the one who said he was going to do all of this stuff. It would be one thing if he hadn’t actually said “I’m going to nationalize healthcare” and “I’m going to defund military programs and close terrorist detainee camps” and “I’m going to put the coal industry out of business.” But since he said those things, and now he’s the President with a majority in congress, I’d say there’s a pretty strong chance that he’ll do everything he said he would.
The government foray into the private sector is unprecedented. Sure, companies that took government money deserve the government fiddling, but it’s the precedent that scares me. People will be desensitized to the government telling them how to run private businesses. We will trade our capitalist freedom for a little bit of promised help.
The second the first bank agreed to take bailout money, the country turned the corner.
To quote Winston Churchill, “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”
Or as I like to call it… Trickle Up Poverty.
