So Saturday night (after figuring out how to find an alternative car because my truck died), I went to see my friends play in the battle of the bands. They are in a group called Hollis, and they have a unique style. You can check them out here: http://myspace.com/hollistheband.
I was particularly interested to go because these 3 guys are also in the church band that I play in.
The event took place at a bar called Aftershock, which is one of the last remaining bars in KC that still allow smoking, much to my chagrin. It’s allergy season in KC, and my sinuses have been wicked full for the past few weeks. Adding smoke to the mix equals an instant headache.
Fortunately, I remembered my ear plugs (I’m an old fuddy-duddy now) so the volume of the band was just right… 🙂
After the battle of the bands (which Hollis won, by the way), Jenna and I went to Waffle House and indulged in some uber-greasy wee hours breakfast.
