Gonzales is Gone

So, I watched the Gonzales congressional hearings on CSpan, and it was obvious this was a retarded witch hunt. If I had to spend 5 minutes with Chuck Schumer from NY, I’d shoot myself. First of all, Congress does not have jurisdiction over political appointees… this was none of their business at all. Second, every employer, including the justice department has the right to fire people… pretty much for any reason so long as it doesn’t violate Title 7. It makes no sense to beat someone up for firing people.

Can anyone explain to me why Gonzales (Republican) has been run out on a rail for firing his employees, while Congressman William Jefferson (Democrat) was caught with $90,000 in bribe money stuffed into his fridge is still serving in Congress.

Pure partisan politics. Period.

While I welcome opportunities to slam the Bush administration, I do think that the people who got fired need to quit their bitching…lawyers fire people all the time. What, did they think that because they worked for the government, they were fire-proof?

I do find it amusing that Bush is whining about things being unfair and someone’s name being dragged through the mud for political reasons. I don’t think he remembers that story about the pot and the kettle…
