Asking For It, Per Usual

I don’t really like jumping on bandwagons, but I’d like to discuss the deal in which the United Arab Emirates managed to get the leases on 6 major US ports.

The way the deal is structured, it will only go through if there is “no formal investigation” of the transaction. Now, I’m a big fan of “innocent until proven guilty” especially when we talk about American citizens, but doesn’t this raise a big red blinking flag? The deal is a no-go if there is an investigation? Hmmm…. Not suspicious at all.

The Middle East, including the UAE has the most corrupt banking system in the world. Can we honestly sit here and believe that this won’t be funding terrorism?

I believe in global world trade. I think a global economy is the best thing even if it means jobs are shipped overseas. However, I’m opposed to making a deal with the devil.

We should have nothing to do with China. They are nothing but low down communist thieves who steal our ideas and inventions, don’t pay for them, and use them for their own devices. We should have nothing to do with the Middle East… any of it. Cut it off at the knees, and see how long it takes for their governments to REALLY start doing something about the radical islamic population. Either they want to play in the real world or they don’t.

We should not open ourselves up to the kinds of things countries like the UAE and China are going to do to us. If we do, we deserve whatever we get.

If we don’t use China for what they are, who’s gonna make all the shit we use? And, who’s gonna make it cheaply? My father’s in China right now negotiating with a manufacturer over there to make toilets. He knows that they will screw him in the end, they know that he knows. But, it’s what you have to do to make a product that can be cheaply made (see all the rants about Unions).

As for the ports, if all the same corrput Teamsters are still working there and the coast Guard is still doing shoddy port security, how is this different? It doesn’t matter who’s managing the port, it’s still easy to sneak shit through.

I’ll send you some UAE money, Pedro. Before going to China, my father was in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Talk about dealing with people on the wrong side of the block…but the company he works for is HUGE over there.

Go read The Workld is Flat again. We have no choice but to be a global economy.

The only way to stick it to the stinkin arabs is to build a fucking car that gets better gas milage. Go talk to Detroit about that. I want one of those cars that runs on chicken fat. Down here in the Land of Dixie, I’d be like the Pied Piper…with a trail of drooling goobers following me all around Greater Raleigh
