Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad

I’d like to thank everyone who has contributed intelligent thoughts and opinions during the past three days regarding George Tiller. I appreciated the honest, open dialogue, even when we don’t all agree. I’m happy that there are those who can have debates without judging or being insulting. To those who didn’t follow the rules of legitimate debate, shame on you for being silly, judgmental and dense.

The killing of George Tiller has been front page news since it happened on Sunday. He was killed by a lone gunman who had a history of mental illness and who was a member of several radical groups, including the “Freemen” which was an anti-government, anti-tax group. He definitely needed a checkup from the neck up. The media has jumped all over this killing to make their favorite point: Christians are just as extreme and nutty as Muslim Jihadists.

While that’s to be expected, it still makes one wonder sometimes. The same day, a Muslim named Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad shot two soldiers outside a recruiting station in Arkansas. I actually had to dig to find an article about it, but here it is: One Soldier Killed, One Injured by Islam Convert. Neither of the soldiers were actually recruiters. They had just finished basic training and were there to tell their stories to potential recruits. They hadn’t even been deployed yet.

Now why, it makes me ask, did Tiller’s face appear on the front page of everything the past several days, and I have to search to find news articles about this ACTUAL terrorist? He didn’t do it because he was nutty or unbalanced, he did it in the name of Allah.

I can tell you exactly why it wasn’t reported with the fervor that Tiller was reported. Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad killed soldiers. Granted, he did it in Arkansas, not in Iraq, but they were soldiers. Here are the reasons that the story was under reported:

  1. Obama is currently trying to reach out and “find common ground” with Muslims, and this story would not have helped that cause.
  2. What Tiller was doing in his “medical” practice was supported by Liberals, and the media is mostly run by liberals. What the soldiers were doing (being soldiers) was not supported by Liberals, who slam the military at every opportunity. You’re only allowed to kill people who disagree with the Liberal agenda.
  3. Tiller was better for ratings, because abortion – 35 years after Roe v Wade – is still a passionate issue for most people. People get killed by nutjobs all the time… this particular victim was a champion for late-term abortion and a darling of the far left.
  4. The media believes we (the United States) are provoking acts like the killing of soldiers. After all, they say, we are supporting Israel, bombing the Middle East, etc. Tiller was a “wonderful, compassionate Christian” who never provoked anyone to violence. The soldiers had it coming, and Tiller didn’t.

If you think the media in general is fair and balanced, you are out of your cotton-pickin’ mind. They display their bias not in what they report, but in what they don’t report. Don’t let the media tell you what to think… be informed and think for yourself.

I appreciate any opinion that’s informed and well thought out, even if you disagree with me.

News = ratings. Nothing more…nothing less. If it will play well in a 4-word headline, run it. If it won’t…don’t.

If it will stir up people and get them onto your website or in front of your TV station, run it.

There’s no real news anymore. Not when you need to fill a 27-hour day with a new BREAKING STORY every 13 minutes.

OK…I’m working from home. I have a TV in my office.
Experiment time. It’s 2:40PM Eastern on a Wednesday. Let’s look at the news:
    (time passes)
Well…every stupid news station was on commercial. I think that somehow made my point for me

I stopped watching the news years ago. Well, I still watch the news channels I just don’t believe all the crap they’re spewing out.

I totally agree that it’s all about ratings. Christians are a more interesting target than Muslims because there are way more Christians in the US than there are Muslims.

PS – How come you’re never on Myspace anymore, turd face!?!?
