A Global Economy for the Good of Mankind

So, Jenna and I saw this the other day:

Nice huh? We were joking about the fact that if this guy were involved in a crime, it wouldn’t be too hard to locate him. “Yes, it’s the pickup truck with the camoflauge… spray paint camoflauge.”

I know I’ve talked about this before, but it deserves another shot.

GM is cutting 30,000 jobs. I’ll let that sink in.

GM is cutting 30,000 jobs and shutting down 12 manufacturing facilities.

Why, you ask? Well it’s very simple. There are two reasons. First, the union workers are paid a ridiculous amount of money to do simple manual labor. If you don’t believe that it’s simple, you haven’t met the GM employees I know personally. Second, GM hasn’t figured out how to copy the Japanese systems and now they’re being crushed by the competition.

I’m sure the libs will say that either GM is run by greedy republicans, or that we should cut off cars from other countries through tariffs, etc.

Now, they’d be right about point one. Every large company, and for that matter, most of the small companies, are run by greedy republicans (i.e. “entrepreneurs”). The only way that liberals get rich is by marrying or being the relative of a greedy republican.

This must be the case, because if liberals ran large corporations, the corporations would undoubtedly give most of their profit to charities. Surely they wouldn’t say something and then practice something different.

It’s not as if the Kennedy’s and Kerry’s keep all of their assets offshore. Oh wait… they DO keep all of their assets offshore. That’s because they like to preach about the rich needing to pay higher taxes, but they don’t actually want to pay higher taxes themselves. Don’t believe me? Go research it yourself. (And by research, I don’t mean “watch Bill Maher’s” show).

Greedy republicans want a global economy, where we have a market equilibrium for all of the major players in the world. The libs want an economy free of free trade agreements. Why wouldn’t libs want to have a world economy? Isn’t that “better for humanity?” That’s what they always preach… we should do more for the starving in Africa, we should help all of the poor in the world.” A global economy would do that, but they don’t want that, because then they couldn’t fund their ill-conceived social programs in the U.S. So instead of allowing business to do their thing, they want to both force them to operate in the U.S. AND tax the crap out of them.

No wonder they lost the house and the senate. Duh.

While I agree that unions are pretty much a joke, I will say that these huge corporations might not have to cut so many jobs if their executive board didn’t vote themselves such exorbitant salaries, raises, and bonuses.

And, I don’t think greed has a political affiliation. There’s plenty of it on all sides.

Have you read The World is Flat yet? If not, go do so and get back to me. I think you’d love the hell out of it even if Tom Friedman wrote it. I’m half way through and am both excited and scared by the challenges we’re going to face

Totally on point. The libs are willing to fight to the last drop of YOUR blood.

Incredipete, I don’t…I don’t see a truck. I see two tail lights. Is it…camoflauged, or something?
Well, Incredipete. I picked a good day to come read your blog. Cause you are RIGHT on target. The other thing libs want that you shouldn’t be able to have is guns. Well, the libs who aren’t scared of guns, that is. Dianne Feinstein has a few, but you shouldn’t be able to. Rosy, too. NOT YOU!

While I know it’s completely off base for the point of the article, if we’d all just drive forigen cars in the first place, we’d achieve so much more. One, better fuel economy, at least when you factor in size and all…. I mean, come on, VW Bettle (which I drive) vs. a good ‘ol American Saturn, the Bettle get’s almost 10 miles more to the gallon. Two, we wouldn’t have these plants in the US that need shutting down to begin with. Now, I’m all for supporting the American work force, but if the work is really that easy, they can do something else, and save us all a lot of wasted news time.

Sorry for the long diatribe. =)

Sorry, just leaving the website… forgot it last time.

I wish I had a foreign car. I’d rather support foreigners than demanding lazy people here…
