What I want to know is, what the heck is the difference between what happened at Abu Ghraib and what happens every single year at frat houses and sorority houses around the country?
Far be it from me to condone torturing people, but come on… these people were not tortured. They were humiliated, but not tortured. Everybody gets humiliated at certain points in their life. It’s inevitable. Ok, so now you’re a POW… yeah. It sucks to be a POW. Life’s rough. Maybe you should have fought harder instead of surrendering like a pansy.
Liberals are outraged at what happened at Abu Ghraib, but they seem to forget that the Iraqi government was doing far worse to their own people just two years ago. Would the men at Abu Ghraib rather have Lynndie taking pictures of them, or have their own government torture and execute them?
Neither option is good, but I think we can all agree that the “not being killed” option is the best.
It’s the same complex we have over here. People are FREAKING out because Arnold said we should protect our borders. He has a right to talk… he immigrated legally. People are up in arms that illegals should have driver’s licenses, education, and other benefits without contributing to the tax base.
If you are here illegally, you are not a citizen. Non-citizens are not protected by the American bill of rights. The bill of rights is FOR Americans. We extend those rights now to illegals, terrorists, and combatants of war. What the heck is wrong with us?
We are going to defend non-American’s rights until we hammer our economy and our way of life into the ground. Each push to give more rights to non-Americans puts another nail in America’s coffin.
